Make Financial awards to assist Greater Cincinnati Area Ham Radio Clubs with projects promoting and supporting Amateur Radio with a special commitment to the recruitment and development of youth in the hobby. The GCARA through its investment account earns a substantial amount of money each year. The money must be spent, by its charter, in support of Amateur Radio. This proposal would allow for the club to assist the other Amateur Radio Clubs in counties within the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Area with projects requiring outside financial assistance. An emphasis on those projects which recruit and develop youth into Amateur Radio should receive priority. Award Amount The award may be based the average annual earnings or a fixed amount to be determined by the membership. Eligible Clubs Excepting for School Clubs all Amateur Radio Clubs applying must have an active 501c3 status with the Internal Revenue Service. Projects Projects must meet criteria as approved by membership.

Funding for Awards for Science Fairs and Exhibits . Funding assistance for RACES/ARES/ Emergency Amateur Radio groups, in their efforts to provide dependable communications infrastructure in the geographical areas they serve.
Solicitation:
Each year the club will notify, by written notice, the other local clubs of the fund and solicit submittals for the grant. Time and close date for the submission will be defined. At the committee’s discretion and funding permitting, a system of rolling awards can be adopted. Application and award can be made during the year. Required data in the application and format for submissions shall be determined by the committee. Grant Selection Selection shall be based on the decision of the Committee. Priority shall to be given to projects in the following order.
1. Youth Development
2. Public Safety/Service Where there are limited resources available to support all project requests the Committee shall make selection based on financial need of the organization making the request, giving priority to assisting those organizations with the greatest need.
